The impact & pursuits of the Pegeia Municipality through its participation in EU funded projects.

Looking ahead, Pegeia’s medium / long term goal is to have a substantial effect of actively strengthening the notion of European citizenship to its habitants whilst achieving an awakening of a European conscience through a better knowledge of the EU and a feeling of belonging to Europe reinforced in the youngest ones that represent the citizens of tomorrow (through our high school targeted actions) as well among adults (through our planned EU project activities) from different cultural backgrounds residing in the region.

A particular focus is constantly placed in our project events on direct intercultural exchanges and face to face interactions between the participating European citizens in order help establish linkages and common ground between different cultures, communities, and people, promoting understanding and interaction.

Moreover through our various events organized by the Municipality of Pegeia we aim to create opportunities for all the participants to experience a real-life intercultural situation, to practice their English as the most common European language of interacting, to exchange views on their countries and their most recent developments and to create long-lasting links between local and foreign citizens.
